The CSR Committee through an implementing agency viz. Gulson Foundation, a Public Charitable Trust, has approved activities as mentioned below:
1. Gulson Learning Centre
The centre was created keeping the core objective of imparting skills amongst the rural population in and around Shirdi.
The centre offers:
• Tailoring Training Program
• Basic Computer Training Program
• Bakery Training Program
• Beauty and Wellness Training Program
Gulson Learning Centre has already benefited over 400 people and has multiple courses in the pipeline. We aim to partner with industry to bridge the gap between demand and supply and create opportunities for the underprivileged youth.
2. Skills on Wheels - (Project launched in May 2022 in two districts i.e Satara and Ratnagiri)
Under this project we have 2 vehicles that provide mobile training to the underprivileged population of rural India. The vehicle is designed and well equipped to carry out classroom sessions in any remote part of the country. The air-conditioned state of the art vehicle is equipped with collapsible desks, benches, smart television, etc.
i. Fitness Training Program: The project has successfully partnered with Gold's Gym Fitness Institute, India. We have successfully completed 2 batches (Pune and Nanded) with 28 graduates who have been certified as fitness trainers. This project has created job opportunities for the students in the fitness industry and provided the gyms with certified staff thus bridging the demand and supply gap.
ii. Agriculture based training program: Skills on wheels also conducts courses in the interior parts of India and has completed multiple agricultural training courses in Satara.
Goat rearing training program:In all 921 participants have been covered in Goat Rearing, Vermi Composting and Dairy trainings in Satara.
iii. Digital Literacy Program: In Rajapur 6 batches consisting 95 students in Basic Computer and Tally Course have been completed through SOW. We also have conducted entrepreneurship development project with 4 self-help groups consisting 400 women from 4 villages. We have also conducted agriculture based training program in 5 villages covering about 250 participants.
3. Hospitality Training in Skills on Wheels at Le Meridien Nagpur and Goa:
i. Hospitality Training program at Nagpur is started in the month of January. The training is being imparted for 7 underprivileged youth from the rural and tribal villages in Nagpur. All seven candidates are being trained in Hospitality training with specific inputs in Housekeeping domain
ii. Hospitality Training in Goa in collaboration with Agnel Institute of Entrepreneurship Development, Goa. 8 Students from Rajapur and Satara are being trained in Goa in Hospitality – Bar Tending.
4. Skills Development for differently abled in collaboration with Helene Keller Institute for Deaf and Deaf blind:
Through Gulson Foundation we hope to make an impact in society with disability inclusion. They have successfully partnered with Helen Keller Institute for Deaf and Deafblind. The Foundation has completed a bakery course with students of Helen Keller Institute to produce and sell some of the bakery products they have learnt.
While we have made some good strides forward there is a constant need to build strong partnerships with industry to train the underprivileged and open up a world of opportunity for them.
5. Sensitization workshop on People with Disability in Hospitality Industry
One day sensitization workshop was carried out in collaboration with Helen Keller Institute for Deaf and Deaf blind on people with disability in hospitality industry. The workshop was focused on understanding the key elements of workplace challenges and opportunities for differently abled people. Sun n Sand, Mumbai had an interactive and participatory session.
